Best cord sites

This page will help you save time searching the web for Korean cording . Look no more!
I really recommend Korean cording for  beginners as it is so much easier to use than rattail and distinguishes itself from Chinese cording in that it has a cotton core which makes it a little stiffer and thus easier to loop.
Rattail looks nice once you have a little more practice , but does not give the same result. The knots have to be tightened more to hold their shape.

A good variety of colors in 2mm and 1.5mm sizes.
Discounts available for bulk orders.

Rattail –  Probably the most used cord in Chinese knotting. Not necessarily the easiest to use for Korean knotting. If you use the rayon type, make sure it is the heavyweight one which has a core, as the other type is just impossible to work with.  This kind of cording becomes possible to use once you’ve had some training in knotting. Its silky aspect adds a touch of luxury if you are looking to make costume jewelery.

Rattail exists in Rayon and Nylon varieties all available on our store: Maedup & Co Come and take a look!

Japanese cording : This very fine cording (1mm) is for the more expert knotter. Its multi-colour tint is also made up of a cotton core with a satin weave around it. It doesn’t take well to being knotted and then undone – hence why it helps being an expert if you choose to use it. If using a single cord, the knots are really small.  Doubling the cord has a nice effect and the knot will then be larger.

I clicked on Maedup & Co. (in red on your Web site) and it looks lovely, but it’s in French! ?? How can I see it in English? And does it include tools? Help!

    • Hi there! Look in the top right hand corner of the site and you’ll see a british flag for the english version… What type of tools are you looking for so I can help you out?
      THanks for your interest 🙂

  2. Hello exceptional blog! Does running a blog such
as this require a great deal of work? I have virtually no understanding of computer
programming but I was hoping to start my own blog soon. Anyway, if you have
any ideas or tips for new blog owners please share.

I understand this is off subject but I simply had to ask.
    Thank you!
